Dear colleagues,

it is a great pleasure to once again warmly welcome you to the International Congress of the German Society for Aligner Orthodontics in Cologne in 2026. Two years have passed — two years of intensive developments, new scientific insights, and exciting innovations that have profoundly influenced our daily work in both practice and research.

As the President of the DGAO, I am delighted to see how our professional society continues to evolve further as an internationally recognized forum for high-quality, evidence-based aligner orthodontics. The DGAO Congress is far more than a meeting of experts: it is a place of vibrant exchange, critical discussion, and collegial inspiration. Beyond the scientific program, this congress also offers an opportunity to strengthen our community through conversation, shared learning, and the joy of meeting in person once again

Our speakers this year will present the latest clinical findings, current research results, and forward-looking technologies. All of them contribute to advancing aligner orthodontics and to continuously improving the quality of our treatments for the benefit of our patients.

I wish us all inspiring days in Cologne, valuable new insights, and stimulating encounters.

Pre-Congress Progress

Program DGAO Congress

In 2026, our pre-conference will once again be live – practical and dialogue-oriented.

Our topic for 2026: ALIGNER TREATMENT PLANNING AND -BILLING. Using specific case examples, Matthias Peper (Image: TPAO) will discuss planning strategies and present effective communication with technicians. In the second part, Heike Herrmann, Ursula Duncker, and Daniela Henning will provide tips and insights into contemporary billing systems as well as clear guidance for implementation in everyday practice.

You will receive 8 continuing education credits for participating in the pre-congress. Assessment will be based on the guidelines for continuing dental education issued by the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (KZBV), the German Dental Association (BZÄK) and the German Society of Dentistry and Oral Medicine (DGZMK).

The pre-congress will take place at the Dorint Hotel, and the presentations will be held exclusively in German.
